Jacoby Brissett gets two-year contract extension from Colts
The Indianapolis Colts were not lying when they said they believed in Jacoby Brissett.
Brissett and the Colts have agreed to a two-year contract extension, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported on Monday. The deal pays him $20 million guaranteed as a signing bonus.
Between Brissett and Brian Hoyer, the Colts were making deals with quarterbacks on Monday. The team also reached a 3-year, $12 million deal with Brian Hoyer that gives him $9 million guaranteed.
The Colts had major money set to go to Andrew Luck at the quarterback position. His retirement freed up cash that they used to lock up Brissett, whom they clearly think can get the job done. Colts head coach Frank Reich recently said he believed Brissett was “the answer” at quarterback.
In 2017, Brissett passed for 3,098 yards, 13 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.
