Jarvis Landry has played six NFL seasons, and he has appeared in all 16 games of each of them. Despite undergoing offseason hip surgery, he intends to keep that streak going.

Landry said he is “a little bit ahead of schedule” in his rehab and set his return date as August. He made no secret of the fact that his streak of games played is something he significantly values and wants to keep going.

“That’s one of the goals that I would set out for myself since I was a kid watching ‘Monday Night Football,'” Landry said, via Tom Withers of the Associated Press. “And it’s still something that’s in the back of my mind. Obviously I want to make sure that I’m going through this process the right way, too, and making sure that I’m healthy enough to be able to go out there and help the team win games and not hurt the team.”

The 27-year-old was a key part of the Cleveland Browns’ offense in 2019, racking up 1,174 receiving yards and six touchdowns. He did all that despite playing virtually the entire season with the hip issue that ultimately led to his surgery. That just shows how tough Landry is, and you wouldn’t bet against him keeping his ironman streak alive in 2020.
