Jerry Jones admits to being ‘envious’ of 1 team’s success
Even Jerry Jones’ detractors do not doubt that he very badly wants the Dallas Cowboys to win. That can even make the team owner a bit jealous when other teams are doing it in his home state.
Jones admitted Thursday that he is “elated but envious” for the Texas Rangers as they prepare for the World Series after winning the American League pennant. Jones made clear there are no hard feelings, of course, adding that the Rangers’ run to the World Series was “inspirational.”
Jerry Jones might go to a World Series game between the Rangers and Diamondbacks. “Knowing how competitive that is, it’s inspirational,” he said of the Rangers’ success. “I know where they’ve come from and I know how hard they’ve been trying at it … I’m elated but I’m envious.”

“Knowing how competitive that is, it’s inspirational,” Jones said. “I know where they’ve come from and I know how hard they’ve been trying at it … I’m elated but I’m envious.”
The Rangers and Cowboys share a city, so Jones is certainly pulling for them. At the same time, he no doubt wishes some of the Rangers’ success could rub off on his own team. The Cowboys look like a playoff team, but there are questions about whether they can do more than that, especially since Jones does not seem entirely pleased with how things are going.
