The New York Jets feel that they have made a fair and competitive offer to free agent running back Le’Veon Bell, and they want him to give them a response so they can move forward with the rest of their offseason.
Connor Hughes of The Athletic reports that the Jets have given Bell a deadline for when he needs to respond to their offer, otherwise they are pulling it.
The #Jets have given Le’Veon Bell a deadline to decide if he is going to sign or not, per sources. They’re not waiting forever.

The Jets reportedly made their final offer to Bell after linebacker Anthony Barr backed out of a verbal agreement to sign with them. They probably want an answer from Bell so they don’t miss out on other free agents if he is planning to sign with another team, but taking a hard stance might not work with a player who just sat out an entire season to get what he wanted.
Bell hinted on social media Monday that he is mulling multiple offers, and it would not be a surprise if New York’s is the highest.
