Johnny Manziel was in ‘really good mood’ while buying liquor
Johnny Manziel has said nothing publicly since his season ended with a concussion and some wild rumors about a trip to Las Vegas, but don’t worry — the Browns quarterback is said to be doing just fine.
According to a report from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Manziel was spotted making a purchase at a liquor store in Texas Saturday night. The store manager said the 23-year-old bought a $120 bottle of Don Julio tequila and seemed to be in great spirits.
“He was in a really good mood,” Theresa Swinney said.
Of course, Manziel was doing nothing wrong by buying some tequila on a Saturday night. He also wasn’t doing anything wrong when he shared a video of himself drinking Four Loko on Christmas Eve or partying in a nightclub before that. But if you think this is the type of stuff new Browns head coach Hue Jackson wants to hear, you’re crazy.
By entering a rehab treatment facility last offseason, Manziel was basically admitting his drinking had become an issue. He clearly hasn’t stopped drinking alcohol, which means the trip to rehab was either a PR stunt or Manziel has a drinking problem.
If you heard the comments Jackson made over the weekend, you get the impression he doesn’t care what Manziel does. You can’t blame the new head coach for that.
