During Sunday’s game between the Seahawks and Vikings, Seattle punter Jon Ryan suffered a broken nose when he tried to gain a first down on a botched punt attempt. He shared a photo of his swollen nose and two black eyes earlier this week.

Many were left wondering afterward why Ryan tried to hurdle a couple of Vikings players. On Wednesday, the Seahawks punter gave a hilarious explanation of what happened.
Jon Ryan on his failed run: "I couldn't just press L2 and jump outside. I'm a middle aged white guy. It doesn't quite work that way."

Ryan knew he wasn’t going to pull an Adrian Peterson-ish jump cut out of his back pocket. So, when you can’t go around someone, try going over them, I suppose.
If there’s a next time, I would imagine Ryan will try something else. Since he went all Madden NFL on us with his quote, there’s always a spin move or the circle/B button, depending on your gaming console.
