All-Pro cornerback Josh Norman continues to barbecue over the hot take grill.
Norman, who signed with the Redskins this offseason, gave his candid thoughts on a number of football-related topics in a recent feature by Kevin Van Valkenburg for ESPN the Magazine.
A quick excerpt, per Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post:
“Spend any time around Norman and it’s easy to understand how he became one of the NFL’s most interesting, and polarizing, players. Riding in an Uber past the Eiffel Tower and during hours of idle conversation over the next two days, he offers thoughts on everything and everyone, including NFL commissioner Roger Goodell (“Horrible. He’s straight horrible.”), the league’s crackdown on big hits (“What happened to us? Society is so soft.”) and Washington’s nickname (“Redskins is not offensive to me. I’m part Native American on both my mom’s and my dad’s side. It’s kind of a funny thing, though. A redskin playing for the Redskins.”).
Norman’s lack of a filter became apparent with his rise to prominence as a Carolina Panther last season. Fortunately for everyone who can’t get enough of the Pro Bowler’s fascinating insights on issues of cultural and societal importance, he will be joining FOX as an NFL analyst for the coming season.
At this rate of uncensored commentary, maybe we’ll even see Norman make an appearance on a future episode of South Park.
