Julian Edelman has shoulder surgery, expected to be ready for offseason
Julian Edelman dealt with multiple injuries down the stretch of the 2019 season, and the star receiver has already undergone surgery to address one of them.
Edelman underwent a shoulder procedure last week, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports. The veteran is not expected to face a lengthy rehab and should be ready to participate in the New England Patriots’ offseason program.

In addition to the shoulder injury, Edelman played through a knee injury that was also described as serious. It is unclear if he will need surgery for that as well.
Edelman was by far New England’s best receiver in 2019 despite the injuries, as he caught 100 passes for 1,117 yards and six touchdowns. Between the shoulder procedure and his embarrassing arrest in Beverly Hills, he has already had an eventful offseason.
