Julian Edelman will have surgery on his broken foot Monday, but that does not necessarily mean he is out for the season for the Patriots.
The New England wide receiver suffered a broken foot late in the first quarter of the team’s comeback win over the Giants on Sunday.
FOX’s Mike Garafolo reported that Edelman has a true Jones fracture, which is the same foot injury Dez Bryant had, keeping him out six weeks.

The Patriots have seven weeks left in the regular season and then a possible first-round bye in the playoffs. With that much time to heal, it’s not out of the question to think Edelman could return in the Patriots.
Edelman was on his way to a career year and had already scored seven touchdowns this season. He had four catches for 53 yards prior to leaving Sunday’s game.
