Kristin Cavallari reportedly felt Jay Cutler was ‘lazy’ and ‘unmotivated’
Jay Cutler and his wife Kristin Cavallari announced recently that they have decided to get a divorce, and it sounds like things between the two began to sour when Cutler chose football over broadcasting nearly three years ago.
Cavallari felt that Cutler had become “lazy” and “unmotivated” since his final season in the NFL back in 2017, according to a report from Page Six. One source indicated to the gossip outlet that Cavallari was bothered by Cutler leaving a job with FOX Sports to play for the Miami Dolphins.
“She was growing increasingly impatient with him. He was supposed to take this big job at FOX Sports and have a life after football that would get him up off the couch and do something,” the source said. “Instead, he backed out — this is [three] years ago — and joined the Dolphins. That didn’t pan out well, and he was left with no TV gig until she got the show for them.”
The source also said Cavallari “views herself as very polished and put together, and [Cutler as] this lazy, unmotivated guy.”
Cavallari indicated on social media years ago that she was unhappy about Cutler’s decision to continue his football career rather than become a broadcaster. There seems to still be interest in the former quarterback as an analyst from major networks, though it’s unclear if he will pursue opportunities this year.
Cutler was probably underrated as a quarterback throughout much of his NFL career, and he did make more than $120 million. It’s probably hard to become passionate about something after you make that much money playing, though Cavallari thinking Cutler was “lazy” fits in perfectly with the Smokin’ Jay Cutler image.
