Kyle Long hilariously credits agent for earning him dubious honor
Players respond to online criticism in different ways. Kyle Long prefers humor.
The Chicago Bears guard was recently dubbed the team’s most overpaid player by Bleacher Report, according to one Twitter user. So Long responded the only way he could: he thanked his agent for doing work on his behalf.

Perhaps the most amusing part is that earlier this week, Long restructured his deal to save the Bears some money and open up some extra salary cap space. Perhaps the “honor” was true in 2018, but it probably isn’t anymore.
Kyle Long agreed to a 1 year $4.1M fully GTD restructured contract w/ the #Bears that includes an $8.1M option for 2020. The move clears $2.9M of cap space for CHI this year.https://t.co/Gt1HPZqGso

Long is pretty good at Twitter. And might as well embrace it. There’s no such thing as bad publicity.
