Howie Long: Son Kyle will be out ‘a while’ with ankle injury

Chicago Bears offensive lineman Kyle Long will be out for some time, according to his father Howie.

Kyle Long was carted off the field in an air cast and will not return, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport. Howie Long said on Fox that, while the injury isn’t as bad as it looked initially, it’s still not good news.

Long tried to rally the team as he was being carted off, but it did not work, as Jay Cutler immediately fumbled.

The Bears have little reason to rush Long back anyway, as they continue to fade away from the playoff race. Despite that, the injury is an undeniable blow to a Chicago team that just thought it was getting healthy again.
