Rookie running back Leonard Fournette has gotten off to a solid and steady start for the Jacksonville Jaguars, but he thinks he has more to offer.
Fournette ranks eighth in the league in rushing yards with 199, but his longest run from scrimmage has been for 17 yards — which he thinks he can best.
“At the end of the day, it’s up to me whether I want to break a tackle and want that 60-yard run or 50-yard run,” Fournette said, via Phillip Heilman of Jacksonville.com. “At the end of the day, I put it all on myself because I know I can do better. I expect better out of myself.”
Fournette may be splitting carries, but we’re still waiting for him to burst into action with a long run. It’s probably only a matter of time.
