Mark Sanchez has funny exchange with reporter over ‘Butt Fumble’ question
Unless Mark Sanchez can do something miraculous like lead a team to a Super Bowl or orchestrate the greatest comeback in NFL history before his career is over, he will likely always be remembered for the “Butt Fumble” above all else. To his credit, the veteran quarterback has a good sense of humor about that.
Sanchez, who is preparing to start for Washington in Week 14, was asked on Wednesday about the embarrassing play in 2012 when he ran into a Jets teammate’s backside and coughed up the ball. He looked at the reporter with a straight faced and said, “I don’t follow,” which resulted in the room erupting with laughter.

Sanchez threw a friendly jab at the reporter for taking the “low-hanging fruit” by asking him about that play, but he insists it doesn’t bother him that people keep bringing it up.
“No, listen, who cares,” Sanchez said. “It’s one play. You just move on. I prefer to remember the good stuff.”
The “Butt Fumble” was such a hilarious and embarrassing play that ESPN had to make a tough programming decision so it would not be shown every week for the rest of eternity. Sanchez has to be tired of hearing about it, but you have to commend him for laughing it off.
