Maurice Hurst was pretty pumped to be selected by the Oakland Raiders after a long draft slide.
Hurst, who left the NFL Combine after a medical check found he had a heart condition, was viewed by some as a potential first-round pick. Instead, he lasted all the way until the Raiders scooped him up in the fifth round at pick No. 140.
After getting picked, Hurst was all about the Raiders.

The former Michigan DT says he’s known about the issue since his freshman season, when he got tested by the Wolverines. Some NFL teams were quite leery of him and did not feel he was worth a pick given his condition. The Raiders felt otherwise.
