Mychal Kendricks takes shot at former Eagles teammates
Mychal Kendricks should have plenty of fond memories from his six seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, but the veteran linebacker proved during HBO’s “Hard Knocks” that he is not afraid to point out the flaws of his former teammates.
In the latest episode of “Hard Knocks” that aired on Tuesday night, Kendricks was shown talking about the Eagles in advance of Cleveland’s preseason game against them. His scouting report on two former teammates — quarterback Nick Foles and tight end Zach Ertz — seemed surprisingly harsh.
LB Mychal Kendricks addressing the Browns on tonight’s Hard Knocks:
“Playing with Nick Foles, I realized on his long balls he has like a tear-drop effect. So (CBS), he’s a little slower on that ball coming in.”
“No. 86 is the best receiver on the team. Notice I say receiver…”

In other words, Kendricks says Foles has a lousy deep ball and Ertz isn’t really tough enough to be considered a tight end. Another comment he made about Ertz reiterated that.
Mychal Kendricks on Hard Knocks about TE Zach Ertz’s blocking ability: “You f**king hit his ass over and over, he doesn’t want any smoke.” #Eagles

Context is important, as Kendricks was simply trying to give his current teammates some pointers on how to get the best of his former teammates. Still, the linebacker had to know HBO’s cameras were rolling. If you remember, there was a bit of drama with the way Kendricks left the Eagles. Perhaps he did not leave the Super Bowl champions on the best of terms.
