Nelson Agholor missed out on big contract incentive by very slim margin
Nelson Agholor had a rather cruel end to the 2023 regular season.
The Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Agholor recorded five catches for 39 yards in Saturday’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He entered play with 342 receiving yards on the season, meaning that he finished with a final tally of 381 yards.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Agholor ended up just 19 yards shy of triggering a contract incentive of $250,000. Had Agholor logged 400 total receiving yards on the season, he would have cashed the incentive.
For Agholor, who is on a one-year, $3.25 million contract with the Ravens, the 400-receiving-yards benchmark seemed fairly attainable. He had topped that mark in four different career seasons already and had the presumptive NFL MVP in Lamar Jackson throwing him the ball.
Instead though, the former first-round pick Agholor finished ever so slightly short of banking another 250 grand. But at least he got to enjoy a Ravens teammate cashing a major incentive of his own during Saturday’s game.
