Patriots’ Kyle Van Noy amused over Sam Darnold ‘seeing ghosts’
Did New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold really say that?
Even New England Patriots linebacker Kyle Van Noy couldn’t believe it, but Darnold, while mic’d up during a 33-0 loss to the Patriots on Monday, admitted to “seeing ghosts” out on the field.
Oh no Sam Darnold do not admit to "seeing ghosts" when you're mic'd up in prime time. pic.twitter.com/E0pukwhL4s

The comment resulted in endless mocking of Darnold on social media, and perhaps rightfully so. It also resulted in the shock of many professional players around the league who had never heard a quarterback utter such words.
Kyle Van Noy was told about Darnold was overheard saying he was "seeing ghosts."
KVN: "He did? That’s the boogeymen..
"Sorry, he really said that? That’s crazy for him to say that. That makes it real. That’s crazy.
"I can’t believe he said that."

Being haunted does seem fitting with Halloween just around the corner, especially since “The Boogeymen” on defense for the Patriots are genuinely beginning to scare just about everyone. Through the first seven weeks of the season, they are comparable to some of the greatest NFL defenses ever assembled.
Still… Telling your teammates and coaches you’re seeing ghosts? That’s a low point for Darnold in his young career and something that undoubtedly has Jets fans cringing.
