Report: ‘Non-football incident’ nixed Bashaud Breeland’s Panthers deal
The Carolina Panthers had a deal with cornerback Bashaud Breeland, but that deal is now off, with some question as to why.
The Panthers announced that Breeland had failed a physical, but NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo indicated that there may have been more at play.
CB Bashaud Breeland failed a physical and won’t be signing with the Panthers.

With Bashaud Breeland, there was a non-football incident that occured recently, a source said. It was supposedly nothing that would hold up a deal. Guess it was,

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport later clarified that an infected foot was the culprit.
Almost #Panthers CB Bashaud Breeland cut his foot in a non-football injury and it got infected, source said. He is now a few months away from being able to pass a physical. Brutal.

Obviously, some players fail physicals for one team and would pass them with others, and Breeland isn’t even the first player to fail a physical this offseason. It’s horrible luck for the cornerback.
