An 8-second video of Tyrese Haliburton was all Indiana Pacers fans needed to get excited this offseason.
Haliburton suffered a torn Achilles in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals and missed the entire 2025-26 season. On Saturday, about 13 months after the injury occurred, the Pacers’ social media account posted a video of the All-Star guard throwing down a between-the-legs dunk in front of a fired-up team of trainers.

The video eased Pacers fans’ worries in more ways than one. With Haliburton bringing out the “East Bay” dunk and bouncing up and down afterwards, he’s clearly at a stage where his injury isn’t as much of a concern anymore after a full year of recovery.
A shirtless Haliburton also showed off his much more slender physique after fans were making fun of Haliburton’s weight gain as recently as April. Haliburton had been having an adverse reaction to medication he was taking to combat face shingles.
The Pacers opted to tank the 2025-26 campaign, giving Haliburton all the time in the world to recover. While Indiana gave up its lottery pick in a botched trade, the 2025 NBA Finalists appear to be back to full strength.
