Panthers announce big news about Bryce Young for Week 8
The Carolina Panthers are making an injury-enforced quarterback change for Week 8.
Panthers coach Dave Canales announced Wednesday that Bryce Young is likely to start for the team against the Denver Broncos on Sunday. Canales said starter Andy Dalton has a sprained thumb, and that the team plans to proceed with Young just to be safe.

Canales added that Dalton’s thumb injury is related to the car accident he was involved in on Tuesday. Fortunately, the injury does not appear serious.
For Young, it is a chance to demonstrate that he still has a future as an NFL starter. The Panthers benched him two games into the season, prompting questions about his future with the franchise and possible trades. Young will want to show that he still has a place in the league, be it with Carolina or somewhere else in the future.
Young has made four appearances (two starts) this season for Carolina. He has only thrown for 299 yards and three interceptions, and has yet to register a touchdown. His task will not be an easy one, as he will be up against a Broncos defense that has been performing well lately.
