The Indianapolis Colts are giving Chad Kelly another chance in the NFL.
The Colts have invited Kelly to attend their rookie camp on a tryout basis. The Indianapolis Star’s Zak Keefer reported on Friday that Kelly looked good during his first day.
A few thoughts from Day 1 of Colts rookie camp:
1. Parris Campbell is probably the best player out here. Catching almost everything: Deep, outside, across the middle.
2. Khari Willis was solid in 1-on1s.

The on-field performance hasn’t really been an issue for Kelly. He looked great in the preseason with Denver last year and worked his way up to the backup role. However, it’s the off-field behavior that has always been the problem.
Kelly was kicked off the team at Clemson and had multiple issues while at Ole Miss. He was released by the Broncos following an arrest for criminal trespassing in October.
The 25-year-old needs to keep playing well and more importantly, keep his act clean off the field if he wants to stick with the Colts.
