Rams rule Todd Gurley out for Week 17

The Los Angeles Rams will be without running back Todd Gurley for their regular season finale.

Gurley will not play against the San Francisco 49ers due to a knee injury, with the team officially ruling him out Friday.

The Rams need a win to ensure a first-round bye, but a home game against the 49ers is likely winnable without Gurley. It makes sense to exercise an abundance of caution considering they’re going to the playoffs either way. There was some advance warning that this was coming, and the Rams will just have to survive without him. That said, there’s little doubt he’ll play in the playoff opener, especially if his team lands a bye.
