Court summons says Ray Rice struck fiancee, rendering her unconscious
When Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice was arrested over the weekend in Atlantic City for an alleged fight with his fiancee, his attorney described the incident as a “very minor physical altercation” and chalked it up to a misunderstanding. The more evidence we see, the harder that is to believe.
On Tuesday, a video surfaced that appears to show Rice dragging Palmer out of a casino elevator. The court summons that was filed in connection with the case makes the incident sound even more disturbing.
The document said that Rice has been accused of “assault by attempting to cause bodily injury to J. Palmer, specifically by striking her with his hand, rendering her unconscious, at the Revel Casino.”
A separate summons noted that Palmer is also accused of having struck Rice with her hand, though there is nothing about Rice being knocked unconscious.

While we have yet to hear the full story, there is obviously a significant different between an argument that involves some physical contact and striking a woman and knocking her unconscious.
