According to Washington Redskins president Bruce Allen, everything is fine and dandy within the organizational culture.
Allen defended the team’s culture as “damn good” in a Monday press conference announcing coach Jay Gruden’s firing, then stumbled over himself trying to explain how it leads to success.
Highlight of the presser – Allen: “You know the culture is actually damn good”. @JPFinlayNBCS: “So how does that culture translate to winning football?” Allen: “Through winning football games. We have to win. We didn’t win any of these football games”

What makes a good culture? Washington hasn’t won a playoff game since the 2005 season. They can claim two division titles this century. By one telling, they don’t bother recognizing Hall of Famers that once played for them. One of their players is so disillusioned with the team’s medical staff that he’s refusing to play for them. The front office reportedly froze their former coach out of consultation on roster moves. None of this is the sign of a healthy organizational culture, and nobody is going to believe Allen’s protestations. There’s a reason they’re widely regarded as one of the most dysfunctional organizations in the league.
