Redskins’ ex-Alabama players say they were not asked about Reuben Foster
The Washington Redskins continues to attract wide-ranging scrutiny for their claim of linebacker Reuben Foster.
The team had claimed that Foster, who was arrested Saturday on charges of domestic violence, was claimed in part because the team had checked in with former Alabama teammates who had vouched for Foster’s characters. Two members of the Redskins who played with Foster at Alabama said Wednesday, however, that they were never approached by the front office.
Jonathan Allen and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix both said they did not talk to the team about Reuben Foster before they claimed him.

At this point, it’s unclear which former Alabama players Washington was referring to, because it doesn’t seem to be these two. They didn’t check with the police either. They have admitted Foster may never even suit up for them, but as outcry continues to grow, one has to wonder what the team thought would happen if they made the claim and offered the reasons they did for it.
