Reggie Wayne could be signing with Patriots
The rivalry between the Colts and Patriots is about to get even more spiced up.
Reggie Wayne arrived in New England Saturday night and is taking a physical Sunday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.
Wayne, 36, was let go by the Colts in March after playing 16 seasons for the team. Despite his age he still was productive last season, catching 64 balls for 779 yards. He had said he still intended to play another season despite being cut.
The Patriots sure could use some depth at wide receiver. Julian Edelman, Brandon LaFell, Brandon Gibson, Aaron Dobson, and Brian Tyms have all been bothered by some sort of injury.
Wayne’s reputation is greater than his ability at this point, but he’s still probably a better option than half the guys the Pats already have.
