Richard Sherman posts interesting tweet after Seahawks’ Russell Wilson trade

Richard Sherman at the podium

Now that the last remnants of Seattle’s Legion of Boom era are no longer, Richard Sherman is sharing an interesting message to social media.

The Seahawks traded away franchise icon Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos in a shocking blockbuster move Tuesday. The team also then released longtime defensive captain Bobby Wagner.

Wagner later tweeted a cryptic message later on Tuesday which read, “Sherm a prophet,” a reference to Sherman, the ex-Seahawks cornerback. Sherman himself then responded by writing, “You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.”

Wilson was the beloved face of the Seahawks franchise for many seasons, leading the team to their only Super Bowl win in 2013 along with Sherman, Wagner, and others. But Wilson has now been villainized in a sense, as we are starting to hear reports that the star QB was checked out last season.

Sherman, another formerly beloved Seahawk, probably feels that the same thing happened to him before he was let go by Seattle in 2018. Though in Sherman’s case, that may have been at least partly his own doing.
