Rob Gronkowski is returning to the NFL and reuniting with Tom Brady.

The New England Patriots have agreed to trade Gronkowski and a seventh-round draft pick to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in exchange for a fourth-round pick, ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported.

Gronkowski’s agent Drew Rosenhaus later confirmed the news.

And further confirmation from Rob Gronkowski’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, who texted ESPN: “Pending the physical, Rob has agreed to play for Tampa this season. He will honor his current contract at this time.”

Gronkowski was asked about the rumors that he wants to team up with Tom Brady in Tampa during an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” this week, and he stopped short of ruling it out. The 30-year-old said he has remained in great shape and is “not totally done” but needs to feel that desire to play football again.

Now that Gronkowski has decided to come out of retirement, it makes sense that he wants to play for the Bucs. Gronk admitted that he essentially blocked a trade a few years back because he didn’t want to catch passes from any quarterback other than Brady.

Gronkowski suffered multiple significant injuries during his time with the Patriots, and he appeared to break down during his final season with the team in 2018. He caught 47 passes for 682 yards in 13 games that year, though he made some huge plays in the playoffs to help New England win a Super Bowl.

Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski have teamed up yet again! Treat yourself or a friend with this great Tampa Fiesta shirt. You can buy it here.
