If former Oregon star Marcus Mariota wants to keep his No. 8 jersey with the Tennessee Titans, he better start banging out some curls.
On Friday morning, Titans kicker Ryan Succop — the current owner of Tennessee’s No. 8 jersey — posted a video on Instagram of himself working out and said Mariota can have his number for free if the rookie beats him in an arm-wrestling match.
“Alright Mariota #8 is all yours…free of charge… IF you can beat me in arm wrestling competition. #imgettingready #betternotlosetoAkicker #titanup,” Succop wrote.
Apparently arm-wrestling for jersey numbers is a popular thing within Tennessee’s locker room.
We know Mariota has everything going for him at this point — the athleticism, the strong arm, the intelligence, the incredibly attractive girlfriend. But Succop looked pretty serious in that video, and the dude is definitely jacked for a kicker. Mariota might have to find a new number to begin his NFL career.
