Seahawks release Doug Baldwin, Kam Chancellor with failed physical designations
The Seattle Seahawks seemed to have been preparing the public over the past few weeks for the news that came on Thursday.
Seattle released wide receiver Doug Baldwin and defensive back Kam Chancellor with failed physical designations. NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport says this likely means the end of Baldwin’s playing career.
My understanding is that this is likely the end of the road for Doug Baldwin just based on his health. He’s battled knee, groin, and shoulder injuries. One of the coolest stories of the last decade. https://t.co/Ujsm7S5j7m

News came out during the NFL Draft that Baldwin might be forced to retired due to his mounting injuries. He had sports hernia, knee and shoulder surgeries over the offseason, which explains why the Seahawks took three receivers in the draft.
Chancellor essentially announced his retirement last year due to a neck injury.
The release of both players will save the Seahawks significant money against the salary cap.
