Seahawks unsure if Dion Jordan will be ready for Week 1

Dion Jordan has been dealing with a shin issue this offseason, and the timeline for the defensive end to return remains unclear.

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said in an appearance on ESPN 710 Seattle Tuesday that Doug Baldwin, who aggravated a knee injury at the start of training camp, should be ready to go when the regular season kicks off. He was less optimistic about Jordan.

“Doug, for sure,” Carroll said, as transcribed by ESPN’s Brady Henderson. “Dion, we won’t know until we get him back out. We know exactly what’s going on with Doug. He’s going to be able to make it back barring setbacks of some kind.”

Jordan has been on the physically unable to perform list with an undisclosed leg injury, and Carroll had an interesting way of describing the injury last week. The 28-year-old is projected to be a starter for a defense that has lost numerous key players, so the Seahawks are hoping he’s fully healed by Week 1.
