It’s not often that you get a glimpse inside an NFL playbook, but New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton is letting us have a look at his — sort of.
Payton hopped on Twitter Sunday night and responded to a general request to share some favored plays by doing just that. He even gave fans a look at the terminology his team uses.

52 is 5 man protection. 352 is simply a 3 step drop 5 man protection.

This is actually pretty awesome. Payton is considered one of the most innovative offensive minds in the NFL, too, so it’s fun to get a look at how he operates.
Payton recently tested positive for the coronavirus, but has said he is more or less recovered. He’s definitely feeling well enough to map up some plays, which is great to see.
