Aaron Rodgers was in no mood to keep answering questions about Mike Tomlin after the Pittsburgh Steelers’ playoff exit Monday against the Houston Texans.
The Steelers quarterback spoke to reporters following his team’s 30-6 loss at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pa. Rodgers came to the defense of both Tomlin and Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur when asked about both coaches dealing with questions about job security.
Rodgers called it “an absolute joke” that either coach has been placed on the hot seat. He also claimed teams have skewed toward “making snap decisions” more than they used to when Rodgers first entered the NFL two decades ago. He also applauded LaFleur and Tomlin for cultivating the “right” culture with their respective teams — something Rodgers argued was worthy of keeping them on for even longer.
Rodgers was asked another question about Tomlin moments after his lengthy defense of the current Steelers head coach. He was in no mood to sing Tomlin’s praises another time.
“I’ve answered that a number of times,” Rodgers retorted. “I’ve talked extensively about how I feel about Mike, and I just did in that f—ing answer.”

After snapping at the reporter, Rodgers walked out in frustration.
The 42-year-old has been complimentary of Tomlin throughout the season. After a thorough thrashing at the hands of the Texans, it’s understandable why he wouldn’t want to keep talking about a coach he may not even play for next season.
Rodgers also has his own future to worry about. There’s a world wherein Monday’s game was Rodgers’ last on an NFL field. The prospect of his one-time head coach being on the hot seat may be the least of his concerns.
