TJ Watt was left befuddled by the Pittsburgh Steelers’ continued futility in the NFL playoffs.
On Monday, the Steelers saw another trip to the postseason end in an excruciating loss, as they suffered a 30-6 defeat in the AFC Wild Card Round at the hands of the Houston Texans at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Asked after the game what changes Pittsburgh needs to make in order to break its winless drought in the postseason, Watt came up with an honest answer that underscored the frustration he was feeling about yet another early playoff exit.
“I haven’t had the answer for a long time, so don’t ask me,” the eight-time Pro Bowler said, via Mike DeFabo of The Athletic.
For a player who appears to be on the right path to Canton, Watt has a resume that remains glaringly without a win in the playoffs. While Watt remains a force to reckon with on the field, he is not getting any younger, having turned 31 years old in October.
The Steelers can’t waste Watt’s remaining prime years, and that adds pressure for them to make changes and upgrades in the offseason.
Selected by the Steelers in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Watt finished the 2025 season with 7.0 sacks and 3 forced fumbles to go with 55 combined tackles and 8 passes defended in 14 games.
