Shannon Sharpe’s accuser continues to release audio meant to back her claims that Sharpe was abusive toward her.
Sharpe’s accuser, Gabriella Zuniga, released audio from another alleged phone call on Wednesday through her lawyer, Tony Buzbee. In the audio, which was obtained by TMZ, Sharpe can be heard telling Zuniga that he will be in Los Angeles and wants to go out with her. Zuniga is not enthusiastic, but says she will do it because she is “not really interested in getting choked.”
“I might choke you in public,” Sharpe can be heard saying. “Big Black guy chokes small white woman.”
Zuniga responds by saying that it’s “not a good look,” prompting Sharpe to respond that it’s “not a good look that you did the s–t you did to me” (profanity edited by LBS). The call cuts off shortly after that.
Sharpe’s legal team questioned the context of the audio, telling TMZ that “a very small excerpt with no date or context attached to it.” Sharpe’s lawyers have also suggested that the exchange was normal as part of the relationship, pointing to explicit text messages allegedly sent by Zuniga in which she asks Sharpe to “put a dog collar around my neck and choke me with it while you’re f–king me.”
Zuniga’s camp has produced its own alleged text messages that paint the relationship as abusive.
Zuniga has filed a lawsuit against Sharpe and is seeking $50 million in damages. She is listed in the lawsuit as Jane Doe, but Sharpe’s attorneys identified her as an adult-content creator, which led to her Instagram and OnlyFans pages being discovered. Buzbee claims Sharpe signed a confidentiality agreement when the ESPN analyst and Zuniga entered mediation and that Sharpe’s legal team has made a “grievous error” by breaching that agreement.
Sharpe continues to deny any wrongdoing, and is accusing Zuniga and Buzbee of orchestrating a “shakedown” against him.
