Report: Several Broncos players drawing trade interest
The Denver Broncos are 1-4 and not looking too improved under Sean Payton this season. Their bad start to 2023 has led other teams to begin calling Denver about potential trades.
OutKick’s Armando Salguero published a story on Sunday saying that other teams have shown interest in a handful of Broncos players.
The players teams have inquired about include receivers Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton, as well as offensive lineman Garett Bolles and defensive players Frank Clark and Justin Simmons, according to the report.
The NFL trade deadline is not until October 31, so Denver doesn’t have to make tough decisions on which players they might want to deal until then. However, they have two matchups with the division-leading Chiefs prior to that date, including Thursday’s game at Kansas City this week. They may very well be 2-6 ahead of the trade deadline, which could motivate them to deal some players and rebuild.
Trade rumors surrounded Jeudy and Sutton all offseason, though Denver kept both receivers.
Bolles (31), Clark (30) and Simmons (30) are all on the older side, while Sutton (28) and Jeudy (24) are younger, which could impact Denver’s decision-making. For a team that has been thin on draft picks since pulling off a deal last year for Russell Wilson, restocking draft capital might not be a bad idea.
