Bryson DeChambeau got a shoutout from Tom Brady on Sunday, but the timing was not exactly ideal.
Brady was the FOX color analyst for Sunday’s Week 4 game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla. At the end of the first half, Bucs kicker Chase McLaughlin drilled a career-long field goal from 65 yards.
After the kick just barely cleared the crossbar, Brady joked that McLaughlin “absolutely (nuked) it Bryson DeChambeau style.”
McLaughlin is GOOD from 65 yards!!!

DeChambeau is known for his power and for being able to drive the ball incredible distances. Brady is a big golf enthusiast, so the reference was not a surprise. It did, however, come at a time when DeChambeau was getting absolutely dominated at the Ryder Cup.
At the time Brady gave DeChambeau a shoutout, the two-time U.S. Open champion was down three holes in his Ryder Cup singles match against Matt Fitzpatrick. DeChambeau was well on his way to another loss for a U.S. team that was dominated all weekend by Team Europe.
The Ryder Cup could not have gone much worse for Team USA. Brady was almost certainly aware of that, but he decided to show DeChambeau some love anyway.
