Tom Brady sends funny tweet about Eli Manning’s retirement
There are very few players who can say they have gotten the best of Tom Brady on one occasion, let alone multiple. Eli Manning is one of those players, and Brady reminded us of that when he congratulated the former New York Giants quarterback on his retirement.
Not long before Manning held his retirement press conference on Friday, Brady sent a great tweet.
Congratulations on your retirement, and a great career Eli! Not going to lie though, I wish you hadn’t won any Super Bowls.

As you know, Manning’s Giants beat the New England Patriots twice in the Super Bowl. Brady would currently have eight championship rings and one perfect 19-0 season if it were not for some of Manning’s heroics, so it’s great to see Brady acknowledge that on Eli’s big day. The famous “helmet catch” and Manning’s toss down the sideline to Mario Manningham will always be two of the greatest plays in NFL history, but they bring back painful memories for Brady.
We’ve already seen some great tributes to Manning since he announced his retirement, but it will be tough to beat that personal touch from Brady.
