How Tom Brady got invoked in President Trump discussions
Tom Brady’s name came up in government discussions involving President Donald Trump, and the context was interesting.
Speaking with the media on Thursday, Trump said that he had spoken with Brady recently. Here’s the video clip:
"Somebody in the fake news said, uh, that one of the governors said, 'oh, we need Tom Brady.' I said, 'yeah.' He meant that in a positive way." — I have no idea what Trump is talking about pic.twitter.com/Kp2Xhv99Xq

So why did Brady’s name come up? According to the AP, governors pressed the president for more help in battling the coronavirus pandemic. Trump reportedly told Washington Gov. Jay Inslee that the federal government is the backup for help with necessary medical equipment. Inslee said in response that he needs Trump to act more like Tom Brady and less like a backup quarterback.
On a private call Thurs, governors from both parties pressed Trump for help. Washington Gov. Jay Inslee urged Trump to use his full authority to ramp up production of medical equipment. Be like Tom Brady, he told Trump, less like a “backup quarterback."https://t.co/9ltQpuB5Gg

If we could all be more like Tom Brady in terms of our performance at our job, we would all be better off, even if the new Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback denies being motivated by the doubters.
