Tyreek Hill’s traffic citations case has been resolved
Tyreek Hill received a stroke of good luck regarding his highly publicized incident with some police officers on Sept. 8.
Two citations that had been issued against Hill were dropped due to the police officers failing to appear in court on Monday. The wide receiver had been cited for careless driving and failure to wear a seat belt after being pulled over for speeding while on his way to the Miami Dolphins’ season-opening game in September.
Video of the incident went viral, leading to criticism of the behavior of both Hill and some of the officers; Hill for not cooperating, and the officers for escalating matters.
The Miami-Dade police officer who had handcuffed Hill was placed on administrative leave. The outcome of the investigation has not yet been made public.
Hill acknowledged after the incident that his conduct could have been better. The star wide receiver has since also said a wrist injury he had was aggravated by the incident with police.
Hill is in his third season with Miami. The 30-year-old receiver has 49 catches for 571 and 3 touchdowns this season. He has had over 1,700 receiving yards in consecutive seasons.
