Video: Patrick Mahomes somehow stays inbounds on beastly TD run
Patrick Mahomes did his best Lamar Jackson impression during the AFC Championship Game on Sunday, and the result was a touchdown that gave the Kansas City Chiefs the lead before halftime.
Mahomes, who is a mobile quarterback but not exactly known for racking up rushing yards, had an incredible 27-yard rushing touchdown against the Tennessee Titans. He scrambled out of the pocket and initially looked like he was barely going to get back to the line of scrimmage, but he somehow stayed inbounds and sprinted down the sideline. Check it out:

That was a poor tackling effort by the Titans at the end of the run, but Mahomes deserves credit for making something out of nothing. It appeared he was going to gain a yard at the most.
While he didn’t exactly break ankles the way we saw Jackson do all season, Mahomes’ touchdown run was one of the best you will ever see in a postseason game.
