The Tennessee Titans had been hoping to get Will Levis back for Week 9, but it is not happening after all.

While Levis was able to practice during the week, his shoulder has not quite progressed enough for him to get the start, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. As a result, Mason Rudolph will get the nod Sunday against the New England Patriots, and Trevor Siemian has been elevated from the practice squad to back Rudolph up.

This will be the third game Levis misses due to his lingering shoulder injury. Considering Levis suffered the injury in Week 4, this is a bit concerning, though he did play in Week 6 coming off a bye. It certainly seems as though the Titans should have held him out of that one, though there have not been any suggestions that playing in that game made things worse.

Rudolph has not been all that convincing since taking over the job, completing just 58.9 percent of his passes on the season while throwing two touchdown passes and three interceptions. Levis has not been impressive either, but he should have his job back in Week 10.
