XFL uses Xbox controller to operate replay review
There have been a fair few quirks about the XFL in its first weekend of action, but one in particular really delighted fans when they noticed it in Sunday’s games.
One of the big points of emphasis in the XFL’s early broadcasts has been a closer look at what actually goes on during football games. That has included in-game interviews with players, broadcasting the audio feeds from coaches and players live during action, and even access to the locker rooms during halftime.
It also includes a look at how the league conducts replay reviews. And that allowed some fans to notice that the league’s replay official controlled the video feed using an Xbox controller.

There’s something hilariously quaint about a league that is showing off its technology using an old video game controller to run its replay system. Then again, we’ve already seen one coach pull a double-headset move, so maybe that technology varies wildly depending on certain factors.
