Tiger Woods trolled by official AARP Twitter account

Tiger-Woods-falls

Earlier this week, Tiger Woods had a snarky response when a reporter asked him if he believes he can end his seven-year major championship drought by winning the British Open. The 39-year-old reminded everyone that he is a long way from retirement despite his poor play as of late.

“I know some of you guys think I’m buried and done, but I’m still right here in front of you,” Woods said. “I’m still young. I’m not 40 yet. Retirement? I don’t have any AARP card yet, so I’m a ways from that.”

If Woods keeps playing like he did on Thursday, retirement might not be a bad option. He shot a 4-over 76 on a day where plenty of players posted low numbers. Only 10 golfers had worse opening rounds than Tiger at the British Open, and the AARP decided to kick him while he was down.

Believe it or not, that’s not the worst thing that was said about Tiger on Thursday.

Woods played fairly well at The Greenbrier Classic two weeks ago, leading some to believe that he could be rediscovering his game. It sure didn’t look like it in his first 18 holes at St. Andrews.
