Tiger Woods spotted trying out TaylorMade club

Tiger-Woods

Tiger Woods is aiming to return to competitive golf at the Hero World Challenge next month, and it will be interesting to see what his choice of equipment is.

With Nike having announced this year that it will no longer manufacture golf clubs and balls, Woods is likely shopping around for some new sticks. Earlier this week, PGA golfer Will Wilcox shared a video on Snapchat that showed Tiger tinkering with a TaylorMade fairway wood.

Woods was hitting some balls with Jason Dufner, who also gave the club a try.

Tiger probably still has plenty of Nike clubs hanging around, but eventually he’ll want the latest technology that Nike won’t be producing. As Sam Weinman of Golf Digest notes, Woods played a TaylorMade driver as an amateur and even used one during the final round of a tournament in 2003 when he was not hitting his Nike driver well.

Nike leaving the club business could actually give guys like Tiger and Rory McIlroy a chance to pursue more endorsement opportunities. Nike is still going to manufacture clothing and apparel, and the company even signed one of the biggest names in golf to an apparel deal a couple months back. If he chooses, Woods can now continue wearing Nike apparel and also sign a deal with a club manufacturer.
