Blues play appropriate music after clinching Stanley Cup berth

Stanley Cup

The St. Louis Blues played some fitting music after beating the San Jose Sharks 5-1 on Tuesday to win the Western Conference final in six games. The victory sent the Blues to the Stanley Cup Final, where they will meet the Boston Bruins.

The first two games of the series will be in Boston since the Bruins had a better regular season record.

After first playing “Gloria,” which has become the celebratory song of choice for the team this season, the Blues played “I’m Shipping Up to Boston” around Enterprise Center, which is a Dropkick Murphy’s song.

True enough, that’s exactly where the Blues are headed.

Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final will be on May 27. Game 2 will be two days later on May 29. The series will then head to St. Louis for Games 3 and 4.

The Blues are riding a 3-game winning streak entering the series, while Boston has won seven in a row and is undefeated in May. The Bruins will have 10 days off between games though, which could prove problematic.
