Ryan Ellis briefly exited Game 1 of Nashville’s playoff game against the Winnipeg Jets on Friday after taking a skate to the face.
Ellis and Ben Chiarot got tangled up in the third period. As Chiarot headed to the ice, his leg came up and the blade of his skate caught Ellis in the face.

Ellis left the game to receive medical treatment. He later returned to the Predators’ bench.
Ellis had an assist and three shots on goal in 20 minutes of ice time.
