Lindsey Vonn hired by NBC as Olympics correspondent

Lindsey Vonn won’t be hitting the slopes for the Winter Games in Sochi because of a knee injury, but you’ll still be able to see plenty of her on NBC.

According to Sports Illustrated media reporter Richard Deitsch, Vonn has been hired by NBC to serve as a correspondent during the Olympics. Deitsch says Vonn will report from the US and will be a correspondent for “Today” and NBC Sports.

Vonn, 29, has competed in three different Olympiads, so Sochi would have been her fourth. She partially tore the ACL in her right knee in November and re-injured it in December to knock her out of competition. NBC knows she is one of the most popular and well known Winter Olympians, which is why they want her being a part of their coverage.
