Usain Bolt made history on Sunday night by winning his third consecutive 100m sprint at the Olympics. He may have also caused a major scare at John F. Kennedy International Airport while he was at it.
Police received a report of gunfire at JFK at 9:30 p.m. Sunday night, which was immediately after Bolt won his race. According to NBC News, Terminal 8 was evacuated after authorities received the call. Two terminals were eventually cleared and it was determined that no shots had been fired.
One official told NBC News that people “clapping and banging” while watching the Olympics may have been confused for gunfire. A woman coming off a plane thought she may have heard gunshots and at least one other person reported the same.

How about that? In addition to bringing us one of the most hilarious memes of the year, Bolt’s win also led to panic for some. You can’t get more polarizing than that.
